You may not need a wedding planner to tell you what time the florist is arriving. You need one when the florist isn't arriving. You don't need a planner simply to tell you what's written in your venue contract. You need one who understands what isn't written there, and knows which questions still need to be asked. You don't need someone standing beside you all day holding a clipboard. You need someone who has spent enough years doing this to notice the problem developing across the room before it becomes a problem that clouds your day.
I have planned enough weddings to have learned that some of the most important work I do is work my couples never see. The phone call made before something becomes a crisis. The vendor quietly redirected. The family situation handled without involving the couple. The timeline adjusted because something unexpected happened. The question asked because experience tells me there is probably another question behind it. A good wedding planner organizes your wedding. An experienced wedding planner protects your experience of your wedding. And there is a very big difference between the two.
