The Littlest Guests

One of the questions couples often face is: “Do we include children in our wedding?”

There isn’t one right answer, it depends on the experience you want to create.

Some couples love the energy children bring, ring bearers and flower girls, family involvement such as nieces and nephews or even your own little ones, a more relaxed, joyful atmosphere Others prefer an adults-only celebration so guests can fully relax and the timeline stays more controlled.

There’s also a middle ground. Many couples choose to include children in the ceremony, then offer babysitting or a kids’ room during the reception, provide activities to keep younger guests engaged. Guests with children can feel welcome, without having to tend to tired children, the children are entertained and can even get their PJ's on and watch a movie while the adults are dancing the night away. The key is being intentional. What makes sense for you and what you are comfortable with is all that matters.

A wedding should reflect what feels right for you, not what you feel obligated to do.

If you’re trying to navigate decisions like this, I’m always happy to help you think through what will work best for your day.
